We learned today that authors write about ....
1. Important people in their lives (people they love or even people who have hurt their feelings)
2. Memories that are unforgettable
3. Real life experiences
We all know now as writers that :
"Writing about something we know from our hearts makes writing so much easier!"
Every time we read a book , we always have to ask ourselves :
1. Why did the author write this book ? What does the author want to share with me?
2. How can I connect to this book in my own experience? What does this book mean for me?
HOMEWORK
1. Read one of your library books.
2. Ask yourself:
- Why did the author write this book ? What does the author want me to know?
- How can I connect to this book when I think about my own experience? Did I experience something the same ? What does this story remind me of ?
3. Write a journal entry in your Writer's notebook about how you can connect to the book you just read. Share your story by writing it with detail. You may include a sketch together with your story.
*The most important part of this homework is that you work INDEPENDENTLY (by yourself).
