What a treat for third graders this week! We had an action-packed week full of fun activities inside and outside the classroom. Here's a recap of what we have done this week :
- We did a lot of JIGSAW READING to learn about stars and metric measurement. Jigsaw reading is a strategy where students become experts of different topics . Like a jigsaw piece, they come together in small groups to share their expert topics.
- We had an amazing Stargazing night with the families! Again, it was a great opportunity to share the beautiful night sky together .
- We had our House Academic bowl - where LJ, Alice, Natalia, Sunny, Diana, Danny, Yun, and Peter participated . We are so proud of our awesome third graders!
- The third graders visited 10th grade's math exhibit and learned about probability and bridge structures.
- Casper treated everyone to a hearty lunch to celebrate his birthday !
NEXT WEEK :
- Language Arts - 3A Finalizing Essay, 3B - Non Fiction Reading
- Math - Metric Measurement Test Review, Perimeter
- Science - What ELSE is out there in the universe? A study on comets, asteroids, meteoroids, galaxies, black holes .
